Recital Recording Information
Myers Recording Studio records nearly 300 student recitals each year in addition to the many concerts, events, and private recording sessions that take place at MSM. Our staff of professional audio engineers provide high quality recordings of recitals scheduled in the following halls: Miller Recital Hall, Greenfield Hall, Pforzheimer Hall, Myers Recital Hall, Mikowsky Hall, and Studio 610.  Please note that Myers Recording Studio cannot record recitals in Studio 607 or at off-campus venues.  Please follow the guidelines below when applying for a recital recording.

FOR ALL GRADUATING SENIORS
Senior Graduation Recitals (i.e., the recital needed to fulfill your graduation requirement, not including BM Junior Vocal Recitals) will be recorded by the Recording Department. Please note that these recitals must take place in Greenfield Hall, Pforzheimer Hall, Myers Hall, Mikowsky Hall, or Studio 610.  Recitals cannot be recorded in Room 607 or at off-campus venues. Students must fill out the Senior Graduation Recital Recording Request Form, which is included in the Recital Confirmation Packet distributed by the Scheduling Office. The completed form and any applicable payment must be turned in directly to the Recording Office during regular office hours at least four weeks prior to the recital date. Requests received less than four weeks prior to the recital will incur a $70 late fee.  Failure to turn in the form to the Recording Office will result in the recital not being recorded.  Please note that there is an additional fee for multitrack recording requests and for recitals taking place in Studio 610.

FOR ALL OTHER STUDENTS
You must fill out and submit a Recital Recording Request Form, available in the Recital Confirmation Packet distributed by the Scheduling Office, along with the applicable recording fee. The completed request form and payment must be turned in directly to the Recording Office during regular office hours at least four weeks prior to the recital date. You are strongly urged to request a recital recording as soon as you pick up your Recital Confirmation Packet as recording services are available on a first come, first served basis. Requests received less than four weeks prior to the recital will incur a $70 late fee.

Recording Session Information

Myers Recording Studio is available throughout the academic year for private recording sessions. This is a great opportunity for students to make high-quality audio recordings for an application, audition, demo or your next album!

All private recording sessions are recorded by a Myers Recording Studio staff engineer and can be booked in Myers Recording Studio, Greenfield Hall, Pforzheimer Hall, Mikowsky Hall or Miller Hall based on performance space and studio availability.  Please note that
recording session availability is limited during the peak of the performance season as sessions must be booked around the busy class and concert schedule.

To sign up for a recording session, stop by the Recording Office during regular office hours to see the available recording session times and fill out a Recording Session Request Form.

MSM Concert and Master Class Recordings
Myers Recording Studio records most concerts and master classes throughout the academic year at MSM.  All concert and master class recordings will be made available for checkout from the MSM Library.  In addition, if you performed in a concert or master class, you can purchase a copy of that CD with the MSM label from the Recording Office.

Beginning this year, all recordings of orchestra and opera performances will be streamed on the library website following the concert!  Click here to go to the library streaming page to listen.
